*ahem* Right so uh... January. Wow. That's uh... well there's no excuse for it, really... I just wanted to post this here from my LJ (apologies to those who have seen it already)

For the longest time I had this nagging feeling at the back of my brain about something I wanted to post here (even though it wasn't horribly important) and just now I remembered what it was:

Remember Geocities? Everyone and their dog had a geocities website 'cuz hey! It was free! A puny amount of space so you can slap together some half-assed coding and make a page to flaunt yourself? Who wouldn't want that! I admit, I too have a geocities website which I have neglected for many, MANY years.

Well, the thing is... as of October 26th, Geocities will be closed down for good. Gasp and lament! I know! You can read more about it on the geocities website.

Why are they doing this? Basically it boils down to "we're jumping on the fecesbook bandwagon and we want money." No, seriously... that's all it is. Prove me wrong.

So yeah. Just a heads-up for y'all. If you do have a geocities website, now would be a good time to save all the old-old shit you had on there (if you want it that is) and uh... I dunno... leave an e-candle in memorium of its untimely death?

*shrug* Whatevs. That's really all I had to say. I'm sure I'll come up with something else to fill the void of this journal later. Sofa out. *salutes*
